About Us

About The Victoria Hospital Foundation

The VHF’s mission is to build awareness of and inspire investment in local health care and the well-being of the people of Prince Albert and surrounding communities.

The people of Prince Albert and region enjoy strong sense self-reliance through their local access to high quality health care, medical facilities and health care professional teams.

The Victoria Hospital Foundation as a Registered Charity maintains a staffed office to carry out policies developed by the board to fulfill its mandate. Through its work the foundation seeks to:

  • Build and strengthen relationships with its donors
  • Maintain and grow our reputation of integrity and trust
  • Continue to enhance and enrich the quality of healthcare at the Victoria Hospital

The Victoria Hospital Foundation is volunteer board governed by leaders of the community and is separate and distinct from the Saskatchewan Health Authority. In recent years we have raised funds for numerous pieces of medical equipment that needed to be replaced or upgraded. There is a continuing need for funding due in part to the rapid advances being made in medical treatments available and the technology of today.

Our History...

The Victoria Hospital Foundation was established in 1985.

The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors which is separate from the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Since its inception in 1985, the Victoria Hospital Foundation has raised funds to purchase essential medical equipment and fund programs at the Victoria Hospital.

The Foundation has raised funds for specific equipment needs through special events, direct mail, donations and some face to face solicitations. To date the Foundation has raised well over 17 million dollars for the Victoria Hospital and two attached care homes, Herb Bassett Home and Pineview Terrace.
